FRANCIS
The evocative strength of wood is reinterpreted through harmonic and traditional lines.
FRANCIS is inspired by the typical refectory table of refectories in medieval monasteries, which is characterized by a long, narrow but very thick surface axis. A simple table, along which the friars used to sit close to each other and, by the logic of its shape, were forced to a polite "brotherhood". The essential and minimal shape of the top is supported by a mechanism that prevents the oak surface from bending. The two solid wood molded legs can be placed at the edge of the top, offering a different conviviality to the diners, or they can be retracted in order to create the usual place at the head of the table.

The wood selected by LANDO comes from forests that are managed in a correct and responsible manner according to strict environmental, social and economic standards, in accordance with FSC certification.
Is the wood used solid?
LANDO products are made entirely of solid wood, except for some parts made of wood veneer due to surface stability issues (solid wood is a ‘living’ material and therefore susceptible to slight movements depending on the environment in which it is placed).

The table, which has always been a symbol of sharing and conviviality, becomes the protagonist of the space thanks to a modern and refined design. LANDO creates tables with bold but light lines, in harmony and balance with the surrounding environment. Extendible tables play with the joints, clean and elegant lines draw round and rectangular tables, oval tables are created by unusual shapes, while everything is embellished by marble, wooden, glass or zinc tops. The strength and the charm of solid wood highlight the sculptural nature of the shapes and emphasize craftsmanship.
