FUTURA 10
Design
PAOLA NAVONE

The jug proudly displays its beauty
In the FUTURA collection, Paola Navone re-invents the shapes of Baroque-inspired ceramics, transforming the objects of the traditional artisan businesses of Bassano del Grappa and Nove in the Vicenza area in northern Italy, from which she drew inspiration, into contemporary decorative elements.
The objects of the collection, now free from their traditional coloured glazing and the decorative excess typical of the Baroque style, are now able to let the shapes and volumes prevail, enhanced by the purity of the white material.
The jug FUTURA 10 performs with the slender and baroque windings of its handle. The wide beak bends temptingly outside, echoing the generous shapes of the body, decorated with eighteenth-century embroidery. The glazing merges with the porous substance and changes its essence, the volumes modulate the reflection of light, creating chiaroscuro.

baroque sensuality
Baroque shapes are drawn on the jug. The handle branches sinuously in natural patterns and, in the superb excess of the upward thrust, it overhangs the figure.
the glazing
The glaze, necessary to make the material waterproof, leaves room in the casting to the raw material of the ceramic biscuit. In this way the glazing lies in the inner part of the bonnet and on the lid, accentuating the materiality of this design piece of furniture.
