FUTURA 19 - 20

Design

PAOLA NAVONE

The enveloping and refined lines of a timeless ceramic.

In the FUTURA collection, Paola Navone re-invents the shapes of Baroque-inspired ceramics, transforming the objects of the traditional artisan businesses of Bassano del Grappa and Nove in the Vicenza area in northern Italy, from which she drew inspiration, into contemporary decorative elements.
The objects of the collection, now free from their traditional colored glazing and the decorative excess typical of the Baroque style, are now able to let the shapes and volumes prevail, enhanced by the purity of the white material. The bowl FUTURA 19 seduces with its curved and enveloping lines, dominating the scene with discreet protagonism.
Supported by four elegant feet, the white ceramic is decorated with motifs inspired by the natural world and the lines of the sides generate the gentle leaves of the handles. The lid rests on the figure and continues the decorated texture of the central part of the structure, the glaze seals the encounter between the two parts. Available in the version without lid that lets the internal glaze surface.

enveloping lines

The bowl FUTURA 19 seduces with its enveloping shape. The decorative lines inspired by the natural world, cross the figure vertically and open outwards, drawing attention to the central part of the bowl. The decorations exceed the volume of the object and soar out of the figure, giving life to the curved leaves of the lateral handles.

the glazing

The glaze, necessary to make the material waterproof, lets the raw material of the ceramic bisque emerge in the casting, lying in the inner part of the bonnet and on the lid, thus accentuating the materiality of this design piece of furniture.
